First Night is committed to creating a fun and exciting space for both adults and children alike. See this year's kids activities below!

Sons of Norway, Norden Lodge No. 2, is hosting the Ice Walk, a frozen 20-foot coal walk to strengthen your wits.  Participants are rewarded with warm towels and a hot drink.

There are a number of museums offering to let your kiddos in for free as long as parents/guardians have their First Night Button. More information about them can be found here.

Pierce Transit putt-putt will be back again this year.  Take home an origami city bus as well.

Tacoma Nature Center is bring an activity to celebrate the year of the dog and their wild cousins: wolves, coyotes, and foxes - oh my!

Make a musical shaker with the Children's Museum of Tacoma.

Artist and Craftsman Supply and River Road Landscaping have donated supplies for rock painting!  Take yours home or leave it behind to be hidden with the Monkeyshines on the Chinese New Year.

Pick up entry forms for the Scavenger Hunt here or at the Info Booth.  The First Night Scavenger Hunt can be played within the boundaries of the festival from 6PM to midnight.  Pick up your entry forms at the information booth and discover our clues in shop windows or near activities.

Winners will be randomly selected from all entries received except for the Chick-fil-A First to Find treasures at each clue.

Our grand prize is one night's stay at Hotel Murano and breakfast for two at BITE Restaurant.  Other prizes include tickets to Tacoma Art Museum, Museum of Glass, Tacoma Musical Playhouse, Tacoma Little Theater, The Grand Cinema, The Blue Mouse Theater and many, many arts organizations and other friends of the arts.  See our entry form for the full list of donated gifts.

As we welcome the year of the Dog we have a number of tents this year to help get everyone into the spirit! Make no mistake these tents are for humans only!

Will there be Monkeyshines this year? We're not going to say, but keep your eyes open throughout the footprint of this year's festival
